Transportation Options at MES

 Check 25-26 bus routes

• AM Buses for drop off in the bus area on East Rock Springs Road. PM buses depart from the front of the school.
• Check eligibility as a bus bus rider on the APS Transportation Website or call 404-802-5500.
• Students may only ride their bus home to their assigned stops. Buses cannot transport students to other individuals' homes for playdates, doctor appt, etc. due to capacity and safety.
• Pick-up & drop-off times are approximate, as they are affected by traffic patterns, weather, & ridership.
• Bus riders are expected to obey the rules of safe conduct, which is enforced by the bus driver.
• Please read the APS Bus Conduct and Safety Standards and view the APS Safety Video.
• To inquire about bus delays, please check APS Bus Delays or call the main office.
• Call APS Transportation with any concerns or questions (404-802-5500).

• PLEASE NOTE:
  1) Carline @ Morningside is on Dolphin Drive ONLY (map below)
  2) NO TURNS INTO DRIVEWAY during arrival or dismissal. Please line up down the Barclay Median only. (See map below)  
  3) Please do not drop off on East Rock Springs Road in the morning.

  For PM carline, please do not block the road by parking next to parked cars. Instead, park behind cars to keep the street clear for traffic. MES staff will direct the carline when carpool starts. Thank you!

  Please work with your student on opening the car door from the inside (for the morning) and from the outside (for the afternoon).  We ask that parents remain inside of the vehicles.
  
  YOU WILL NEED YOUR PIKMYKID APP OPEN WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR HOUSE TO PICKUP IN AFTERNOON!!
  
  Please Do...

  • • Line up on Barclay only and enter Dolphin Drive (one way lane)
    • Remain in your car
    • Have your student open car doors from the inside of the car (morning) and outside of the car (afternoon)
    • Say goodbye & have students ready to exit the car before reaching the drop-off area
    • Be a good role model by following carpool rules and being courteous & cautious of others

  Please Don’t...

  • • Enter carpool lane by making a left or right turn
    • Drop students off on East Rock Springs Road
    • Use your cellphone in the carpool, for everyone’s safety

• K-2nd Grade - If you have a child in K-2, please be prepared with your app in hand to retrieve these younger students at the designated walker pad at the top of the stairs by Haygood Church. Please continue to be kind to our staff members who are ensuring the safety of our kids! 
  
  3rd - 5th Grade students WITH siblings will be released to the walker pad by Haygood Church as independent walkers.
  NOTE: Parents will fill out an additional upper grade walker sibling pickup form granting permission for your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student to pick up your K, 1st, or 2nd grade student.
  PERMISSION FORM FOR OLDER SIBLING TO PICKUP YOUNGER SIBLING

• All other 3rd - 5th Grade students without siblings will be released to the upper grades walker area which is at the base of the large stairs at the front of the school.

  Parent/Guardian Pickup of combination of grade levels: If you have a combination of students in 3-5 with younger students in K-2, please tell your older student where to meet you after you pick up your younger student from the top of the stairs.
