One Fair FAQ

Through the fair, students will be able to ask questions and identify real world problems. They can also solve the problems through research and exploration.

Yes! There will be a parent meeting on October 1st, 2025 @ 8:15 a.m. The meeting will be held on Google Meet so that parents can join virtually. It will be recorded in the event parents can’t make it.

The deadline for students to enter the fair is October 8. They should have all project ideas submitted by then.

Any students in grades K-5 can enter the fair. However, only students in grades 3rd-5th will be able to compete in the district and the state fair.

Yes! Students that don’t participate in the fair will have the opportunity to view projects the day after the student presentations.
**Parents will have a special viewing as well. **

If your student places in the district fair, the state fair will be held in Milledgeville at Georgia College and State University. The date is March 28th, 2026.

If you have a student that is interested in presenting a project, please work with him/her to determine a topic. All presentations must be approved before the student begins.

Specialty Projects are projects that involve human tissue, fossils, microorganisms, algae, etc.

• Engineering- Solves Problems (How to improve or make something better)

The students will primarily work on the projects at home. However, staff working with One Fair will be available on Thursdays (after school) for help with project design, assembly, etc.

Display boards, glue, composition books for findings, etc.

Notes, thoughts, findings, ideas, trials, raw data, copies of graphs/charts, photos, dated entries.

Yes! Glass, batteries, promotional products, self-promotion, URL’s, and food are not permitted.

Yes, students can present in groups of no more than 3.

Morningside Staff will accompany the students to the fair.

The judges are professionals that work in the areas of Science, Technology, etc.
